For Fragrance Brands
Fragrance is the studio's home category. 4minus1d has directed cinematic launch films and editorial visuals for niche and premium fragrance houses, from debut summer capsules to green resinous heritage-style extraits.
Why fragrance houses hire us
Fragrance is the hardest visual brief in beauty: the product is invisible, the bottle is a sculpture, and the customer buys mostly on story and taste. Founders hire us because we treat the scent as the source material — the note structure becomes the visual system, and every frame is a translation of what the fragrance smells like. No stock imagery, no borrowed language, no reference-scraping.
What we build for fragrance clients
Cinematic launch films (30–60s hero, with Reels and Shorts cutdowns), editorial key visuals for print and web, founder or muse portrait passes, product-focused still-life sets, and full launch post systems. On most engagements we bundle the film and the stills under one grade so the brand does not have to stitch a campaign from three vendors. Do you work with indie and niche fragrance brands?
+
Yes — indie and niche fragrance is the majority of our fragrance roster. We stay small on purpose so a debut launch gets the same creative direction as a heritage relaunch.
Do you handle the bottle photography as well as the film?
+
Yes, on most fragrance engagements the packaging photography, editorial stills, and hero film are directed under one grade. It means one visual system across every touchpoint.
What if we do not have a physical bottle yet?
+
We can direct a CGI-first launch — photoreal bottle in a fully built visual world — and then swap to live photography once manufacturing is complete. The visual system stays constant across both phases.
